What is a faction?
A faction is an organized, player-made group that operates under one identity in Blackhawk Rescue Mission 5. Most factions model themselves on real or fictional military, law enforcement, or PMC units, with their own rank structure, standard operating procedures, and culture. They range from casual groups through semi-milsim to full milsim, and exist to host events for their members: trainings, patrols, map clears, joint operations, and more.
What does the Faction Department do?
The Faction Department is the management and enforcement body of the PLATINUM FIVE Faction Community. It manages official and unofficial factions, enforces the community guidelines, handles grievances between factions, maintains public order, and issues warnings and blacklists where necessary. In short: it keeps the faction environment safe, fair, and up to standard, whether a faction advertises in PLATINUM FIVE or simply operates around it.
How can I join a faction?
The most straightforward route is the faction advertisement channel in the PLATINUM FIVE Discord. Browse the posts, read what each faction is about (its playstyle, timezone, and requirements), and join the server of one that fits you. You can also browse our faction directory, find factions through community hubs such as NEXT, or join through a friend who is already a member. Take your time reading before you join; picking a faction that matches how you want to play is the biggest factor in enjoying it.
How can I create my own faction?
Anyone can create a faction, but the community strongly recommends joining an established faction first, so you understand how a good one is run. When you are ready:
- Decide on your faction’s concept (military unit, PMC, law enforcement, etc.) and its seriousness level: casual, semi-milsim, or milsim.
- Create a Discord server with a clear structure: roles, channels, rules, and branding.
- Write your core documents (SOPs, armory or equipment lists, handbooks, and hosting guides) so members know what is expected without being lectured.
- Recruit a leadership team you trust, then advertise and start hosting events to keep members engaged.
Take inspiration from successful factions, but never copy their documents, formatting, or branding. Plagiarism is a violation of the community guidelines and will get a faction warned or blacklisted.
Do I need to pay to make a faction?
No. Creating a faction is completely free; all you need is a Discord server and an idea. Costs only come into it if you want to advertise in the PLATINUM FIVE advertisement channel, which requires boosting the server. If that is not an option, free alternatives such as NEXT let you register and advertise your faction at no cost.
What matters most when growing a faction?
Community consensus comes down to three things: be unique, be good, and be active. Give your faction an identity that stands out, keep your server, documents, and events at a high standard, and stay consistently active. A faction without exposure grinds to a standstill. Joint operations with other factions, a clean and welcoming server, and a good reputation around the community all help you grow.
How should I advertise my faction?
The main option is the faction advertisement channel in the PLATINUM FIVE Discord (requires a server boost). Free alternatives such as NEXT are a good second option, and some factions also recruit through social media like YouTube or TikTok. Wherever you post, keep your advertisement clean and well-formatted: your faction name in the title, what the faction is about, and what you are looking for in recruits. Straightforward and genuine beats lengthy and buzzword-heavy.
What are the key advertising rules?
The full ruleset lives in the community guidelines, but the essentials are: one server invite per post, one post per faction every 12 hours, accurate tags (including the “Region-locked” tag for non-English groups), no plagiarized content, and no advertising in DMs or other channels. Any AI-generated, AI-enhanced, or AI-produced content (images, formatting, logos) must be disclosed in plain text in your advertisement.
What happens if a faction breaks the rules?
Violations are weighed by severity. Minor warnings expire after a set time; major warnings are permanent until appealed; and serious violations lead to blacklists, which bar a faction or user from the community. Appealable blacklists have a set date from which they can be appealed, while permanent blacklists cannot be disputed.
