Privacy Policy
How the PLATINUM FIVE Faction Department collects, uses, and protects your information.
The PLATINUM FIVE Faction Department(“the Department,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates this website (“the Site”) as an unofficial, fan-run community resource for the PLATINUM FIVE Faction Community, serving players of Blackhawk Rescue Mission 5 (BRM5). The Site is owned and operated by iBreeily. This Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Site, how we use it, and the choices you have.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of BRM5, GameLoaded Entertainment, Roblox Corporation, or Discord Inc. Use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, not this one.
This Policy works alongside our Terms of Service, which govern your overall use of the Site.
Information we collect
Account information (Discord sign-in)
The Site lets you sign in using Discord OAuth. When you do, Discord shares the following with us, which we store in our database:
- Your Discord user ID, username/display name, and avatar image
- Your email address, if Discord provides one for your account
- A role we assign internally (e.g. member or staff) to control what you can access on the Site
We never see or store your Discord password — authentication happens entirely through Discord. Signing in also creates a session record (and a session cookie in your browser) so the Site can recognize you as logged in between page loads.
Moderation and enforcement records
Part of the Department’s purpose is enforcing the Faction Community Guidelines. Where a faction, server, or individual is reported or flagged for a violation, we may keep records such as a Discord ID/tag, Roblox username, faction name, the nature of the violation, supporting evidence links, and staff notes. These records exist to support fair, consistent enforcement and to give a accurate history if a decision is appealed — they are not collected from you simply by visiting the Site.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting and database providers automatically log standard technical data for every request — things like IP address, browser/device information, and timestamps. We use this only for security, abuse prevention, and keeping the Site running, not for tracking or advertising.
Cookies
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies: one to keep you signed in, and a short-lived one used only during the content-editor login flow. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not run third-party trackers on the Site.
How we use your information
- To authenticate you and keep you signed in
- To determine what you’re allowed to see or do on the Site based on your role
- To operate the Department’s moderation and enforcement processes
- To keep the Site secure and prevent abuse
How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers. We only share information:
- With Discord, as part of the standard OAuth sign-in process
- With the infrastructure providers that host our website and database, solely so they can operate the Site for us
- Where required to comply with the law, or to protect the safety of the community
International data transfers
Our hosting and database providers may process and store information in countries other than your own. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers have in place to protect your information to a standard consistent with this Policy.
Data retention
We keep account information for as long as you have an account with us. Moderation and enforcement records are kept for as long as needed to maintain an accurate enforcement history, consistent with the expiration and appeal rules in the Faction Community Guidelines.
Your rights under GDPR
If you’re located in the European Economic Area, the UK, or anywhere else covered by data protection law, you have the following rights over the personal information we hold about you:
- Access — request a copy of the information we hold about you
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Erasure — ask us to delete your account information (the “right to be forgotten”)
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your information
- Portability — request your information in a portable format
- Objection — object to our processing of your information
- Withdraw consent — withdraw your consent at any time
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below — we’ll respond within one month. You can also revoke the Site’s access to your Discord account at any time from Discord’s own Authorized Apps settings, which immediately prevents further sign-ins. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled a request, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
Legal basis for processing
We process your account information on the basis of your consent — given when you choose to sign in with Discord — which you can withdraw at any time as described above. We process moderation/enforcement records and automatically collected technical data on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a fair, secure community and enforcing the Faction Community Guidelines.
Children’s privacy
The Site is not directed at children and requires Discord sign-in, so it follows Discord’s own minimum age requirement of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under that age.
Third-party links
The Site links to third-party services such as Discord, Roblox, GameLoaded Entertainment, and Google Docs/Sheets. We aren’t responsible for the privacy practices of those services — please review their own policies.
Security
Connections to the Site and its database are encrypted in transit, and our database provider encrypts stored data at rest. Access to the database is locked down with least-privilege roles and row-level security, so tables holding account information can’t be read or written by the public, even with a valid API key — only the Site itself can access them. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security, but we review and tighten these controls as the Site evolves.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
